As is well known, at Inthai we have been manufacturing the high quality fans for more than 40 years. There are still existing examples of fans from the late 1970s and 1980s operating to the full satisfaction of their owners, and we know this because we often receive calls or inquiries requesting replacement parts for those fans. because they have been lost during a house move or that they have simply received a blow and have to be changed. At this respect we are proud to say that we can supply spare parts for most of the models that we have had over the years no matter how old they are.
If you are wondering why our fans are so long lasting, the truth is that there is no secret, it is about guaranteeing above all the highest quality of all the components that are used to build the body of the fan, in a few words the best metal, the best copper, the best bearings, the best capacitor, etc. In addition to that and to guarantee that maximum durability, which is the basic principle of sustainability and ecology, our fans use a classic conception of electric motorization that is by AC current scheme or direct supply. The motors that work through this type of electrical design must be somewhat larger than those of direct current, although this also guarantees, to a great extent, the duration of the motorization. It is said that direct current DC motors are designed for a maximum durability of 10 years while AC motors are designed to last many more years because they have a very high reliability. This reliability and durability makes them the most suitable for commercial installations, restaurants, cafeterias, schools and much more, since in these installations it is essential that they are prepared for heavy workloads for many hours a day and many days a year.
For those who are concerned about consumption, it is true that DC motors consume somewhat less since they are smaller, but it is no less true that AC motors do not consume much more and in practice we would be talking about differences of imperceptible consumption in a normal home or in an installation of any type, in other words very low electrical consumption in both cases; on a day-to-day basis, no one is going to notice the difference between one and the other on their electricity bill. There’s no need to say that the difference in electricity consumption with other types of comfort systems for hot days, such as air conditioning, cooling by aerothermal energy, etc., is very, very high.
We will end this news by mentioning the proper functioning of ceiling fans, which apart from aesthetic considerations, must and are designed, above all, to provide us with comfort on hot days and therefore must ventilate or, in other words, produce air. In this sense, it is very important that the blades are well designed to propel the air and that the fan is located at a minimum distance from the ceiling, about 40 cm., that minimun ceiling clearance is by all means recommended, to allow air recirculation: a fan attached to the ceiling of a room loses its efficiency to a large extent, unless it is running at high speed, which is always not advisable. An Inthai fan installed with the 42 cm. down rod or the 20 cm. if you wish provides a powerful and well-distributed airflow, even at low speeds, providing a very pleasant sensation of comfort.
We will continue soon with more information so that we have a buying guide that can help our clients and friends to decide.
